    Disclaimer

The Pearl people counter is designed for indoor, stationary installations in locations such as entrances and hallways where reliable Wi-Fi network access is consistently available. Using the Pearl counter outside of its intended scope can lead to inaccurate counting results, connectivity problems, and potential warranty voiding. Learn more about pearl warranty.

    Examples of Out-of-Scope Usage:

    1. Mobile Installations (e.g., buses, vehicles): The Pearl is not designed for use in moving environments. Vibrations and changing conditions in transit may cause damage to the device and reduce counting accuracy. Additionally, the network instability in such environments can further degrade performance. This use will void the warranty.

    2. Intermittent Network Connectivity (e.g., turning Wi-Fi on and off for events): Pearl requires a reliable, constant network connection. Frequently disconnecting and reconnecting to Wi-Fi can cause the device to enter sleep mode, leading to missed counts or data loss. This can also deplete the device's battery more quickly due to continuous attempts to reconnect.

    3. Network Hopping or Portable Wi-Fi Use: If the Pearl counter is regularly moved between networks (e.g., home Wi-Fi, portable hotspots), it may cause inconsistent data reporting, buffering issues, or failure to upload counts. The Pearl is optimized for use in stable, single-location networks.

    4. Improper Environmental Conditions: The Pearl is designed for indoor use. Exposure to outdoor elements or harsh environments, such as excessive humidity or vibrations, may result in device failure and warranty voiding.

    Important Notes:

    • Pearl counters should only be used in stationary, indoor locations with reliable, dedicated 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.
    • For mobile or transportation-related counting, we recommend using our partner Xovis, whose solutions are designed for such environments (learn more here: https://www.xovis.com/solutions/transportation).
    • Any deviation from these guidelines may result in inaccurate data, device malfunctions, and will void the device's warranty.
