    🔍 Issue

When attempting to download a PDF report from the TMAS web portal, users may encounter an error or experience no response. This typically happens when the browser's security settings are preventing the file from being downloaded.

    💬 Example Scenario

"I tried downloading a report, but nothing happens. It worked before. Could this be a setting in my browser or account?"

This situation was reported by a user during a support session, and the root cause was identified as browser-level blocking of PDF downloads.

    🛑 Root Cause

Modern web browsers, especially in enterprise-managed environments, may block file downloads by default, particularly for file types like PDF, ZIP, or executable content, depending on policy settings.

This is done to prevent potentially harmful files from being downloaded without the user’s knowledge.

✅ Workaround 1: Use “Print to PDF”

If you’re unable to download the report via the usual “Download” or “Export as PDF” button, you can use your browser’s Print function instead:

Click the Print icon on the report screen.

In the printer selection dropdown, choose “Save as PDF” (or “Microsoft Print to PDF”).

Click Save, then choose your destination folder.

💡 This method is often the quickest and easiest workaround, especially in secure or restricted environments.

If you're comfortable or working with IT, check if your browser has download restrictions:

    Chrome: Go to chrome://settings/content/automaticDownloads
Ensure downloads are allowed from https://www.smssoftware.net.

Edge: Go to Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Automatic downloads
    Allow downloads for SMS Storetraffic.

⚠️ Security Warning: Relaxing download policies may increase your exposure to malicious files. Always coordinate with your IT team before making changes to browser security settings.

    🧑‍💻 Best Practice

If you are part of a corporate network:

Contact your IT department to confirm whether restrictions are in place.

Ask them if exceptions can be granted specifically for SMS Storetraffic reports.
