What wrist strap works with the staff filtering tags?

Any standard 18mm watch band or wrist strap works with Storetraffic's staff filtering tags — no specific brand or model is required. Attaching one lets staff wear the tag securely on the wrist while working, reducing the risk of it being dropped or damaged.

    Why use a strap

Staff filtering tags are handled throughout a shift, which raises the risk of drops and impact damage. A wrist strap keeps the tag secured to the wearer, reducing that risk and extending the tag's usable life. It's an added safeguard, not a substitute for careful handling.

    Compatible straps

Most standard 18mm watch bands or wrist straps fit the tag's attachment opening — for example, an 18mm replacement watch band available on Amazon. Storetraffic doesn't require a specific brand.

    Attaching the strap

Thread the strap through the opening on the staff filtering tag, then wear it around the wrist while carrying or handling the tag. Store the tag safely when it's not in use.

Note: Tag position can affect staff-filtering performance. For optimal detection, follow our Staff Filtering Kit Quick Guide for tag-positioning recommendations.

    Handling to avoid

    • Don't carry the tag in a pants or back pocket — sitting or movement can press against it and cause damage.
    • Don't throw, drop, crush, or otherwise expose the tag to unnecessary impact.

    FAQ

Do I need a specific brand of wrist strap?
No. SMS doesn't require a specific brand or model — any 18mm band that fits securely works.

Can I carry the tag in my front pocket instead?
Yes, that's generally fine — just note that detection accuracy can be affected in some installations.

What about a back pocket, or clipping it to my belt?

    Neither is recommended.

    • A back pocket puts pressure on the tag from sitting or leaning.
    • Attaching it to a belt through its strap opening risks the attachment point breaking, dropping the tag to the ground.
    • A wrist strap avoids both.

What size wrist strap fits the Staff Filtering Tag?
18mm, the same width used on many standard watch bands.
